The Grant Scheme is
designed to assist students, young professional musicians and
established instrument makers resident in the United Kingdom.
Preference is given to British nationals.
The Loan Fund will consider applications from students and young
professional musicians from the beginning of the third year of
their full time studies, until they have been working
professionally for two years after graduation. Applications will
normally be considered for the purchase of instruments up to the
value of £15,000 only.
The purchase price of the instrument will be financed as
follows:
- Applicants are expected to contribute at least
one third from their own or other resources
- A discretionary grant from the Fund not
exceeding one third
- If considered appropriate, a loan from the Fund for any balance may be
approved
|
Applications should be made on a form obtainable from the Fund,
and should include a detailed statement of the applicant's
financial position, including other grants received or applied
for, together with details of employment as appropriate.
Full details of the proposed instrument should be specified in
the application including its maker, price and delivery date.
Applications from those in full-time education must be supported
by the Head of the Music Faculty or relevant Department and be
endorsed by the Principal or Director of the institution of
full-time education; your professionals are to be recommended by
their employer.
Completed applications should reach the Secretary to the Fund by
2 January, 1 May and 1 September for consideration at the next
meeting of the Executive Committee of the Trustees. |
